In the village of Cleveland, NC, just four miles from the property, is Daimler-Benz-Chrysler's Freightliner truck manufacturing facility. Over 3,100 people are employed. The workforce has an average income of over $20,000 per person. It is the largest non-union vehicle manufacturing plant in the United States.

Also in Cleveland is the American la France Division of Daimler-Benz-Chrysler, the well known and respected manufacturer of fire trucks and other specialty emergency vehicles.

A few miles east of Cleveland is a very large, modern polyester manufacturing facility that was built by Celanese in the 1970's and is currently owned by KoSa. It's one of their most productive plants in the U.S., and is among the largest manufacturing employers in Rowan County.

Salisbury and Statesville are county seats of Rowan and Iredell Counties.  Both cities have about 25,000 people. Both counties are fast-growing and are proud of their extensive, diversified industrial base. They are part of the well-known North Carolina "Piedmont".
